President's Message

We hope to be welcoming District Governor Mike Leone to our regular meeting on Tuesday, February 3.

We'll be celebrating our February Birthday Babies on that night also: Steve Stephenson, Hans Koomen and Bill Gee. It seems that Mark Evans is the only Rotarian celebrating a February wedding anniversary.

And we are certainly looking forward to our "Sweethearts Dinner" on Tuesday, February 10 at the Legion Hall in East Avon. Don't forget that our Interact Club, guided by Linda Kime and Doug Reed, will be offering their dessert-and-pastry concoctions for our bidding pleasure!! Last year, the Interact-ers raised money for their club projects with their auction, and they hope to repeat that success this year.

For anyone who missed the announcement, the Cal-Mum club will be celebrating Valentine's Day on February 14 with a dinner dance and silent auction, 6:00 p.m. at Jones Hall.

And the Fairport club will be hosting a Wine Tasting on Sunday, March 9, 1 - 4:00 p.m. at the Historic Green Lantern Inn in Fairport: 20 wineries will be represented, plus food and dessert samplings and a silent auction. Contact President Maureen Hall at Maureen.Hall@hotmail.com .

These two activities are a wonderful way to help other Rotary Clubs in District 7120 to raise their funds, and have a great time, as well.

The Board will be meeting on Monday, February 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Hurricane Technology's conference room. We will be reviewing the January 23-25 board retreat, held at Vonglises' far north second home -- thanks to Laurie and Tom for hosting this first-ever board retreat.

We were glad to see our club members returned from Florida: Jerry Dougherty and Jim Tompsett. And thanks to Mark Evans for displaying and describing some very special White House memorabilia from long, long ago.

Remember, ROTARY "MAKES DREAMS REAL"!

President Barbara Herman

Looking back on...

Tue 1/27 Regular Meeting
Program: Report from Board of Directors visioning retreat, and report from the inauguration trenches (Mark E.)
Attendance: Absentees were not reported.

President Barbara encourages all who missed a meeting to call another AWOL and do a make-up together. For nearby make-up options, check the back of our paper directory or the on-line directory of District club meeting times and places. If you do a make-up, please tell Secretary Diana about it right away, so the correct numbers are reported to the District.

Looking forward to...
