President's Message
Many thanks to everyone who was able to attend the Change of Officers' Dinner at Livingston Country Club on June 24. We had a great meal and excellent harp music by Barbara Dechario to accompany our dinner.
Congratulations to all the recipients of Paul Harris Awards: Kelly Cole, Charles Feller, Shirley Figueroa, Bob McNinch, and Kirk Vanderbilt.
And congratulations to our Rotarian of the Year: Linda Kime. We are fortunate to have Linda able to continue working with the Interact Club during the coming year, and also to continue her work as treasurer of the Genesee Valley Rotary Camp. You are much admired, Linda!
Remember that our July Social extravaganza will be a picnic at the Doughertys' home on Conesus Lake. See Laurie Vonglis or e-mail her to reserve your place! Bring a dish to pass and your beloved (spouse or otherwise) and a modest $10.00 per person. The date is Tuesday, July 15 -- and of course, that's our official meeting for that week.

It was fun for your president to recognize Immediate Past President Bill Wall (like that title, Bill?) and Past Past President Jim Tompsett with a small gift. I think both of them have been known to indulge in card playing and a new unmarked deck should be helpful. My condolences to all those past presidents who could not be my favorites, but the supplier at the PETS training had only two decks of cards left to sell! so I could not bring back gifts for all of you.
I'm honored and excited to be your president for the year 2008 - 09 and look forward to a great year of growth and cooperation for Avon Rotary.
