Tue 10/30 Regular Meeting
Program: Final Auction Prep
Attendance: MIA were Bruce Burrit, Joe Callahan, Hal Cole, Rob Coyne, Tim Dickinson, Dave Futter, Bob House, Linda Kime, Sue O'Hearn, Charlie Pease, Jamie Schoemaker, Devin Tompsett, and Jim Yencer.

Marcia's Notes:

Welcome to Doug Reed our newest member of the Avon Rotary Club. Eastern Cities seen a great time from everyone who attended. There was great fellowship and the speech by the President was inspirational. Ted Coyne said he didn't enjoy the Eastern Cities Dinner. (Because he didn't go). Jerry received an E-Mail from AG Richard and said that Mayor Tom Vonglis looked very dapper at the Barillo Grand Opening but he didn't have on his Rotary pin. Ben presented to Steve Stephenson a hat from Safety Clean because Steve could never get them to donate anything to the Rotary Auction. Prez Bill celebrated that his wife Jill retuned home safely from her trip to California. Tom Vonglis celebrated the Grand Opening of Barilla and his son Ryan being hired at the National Grid, and the Socks victory in the World Series, and traded his TrailBlazer for a new used truck. Helen celebrated 3,100 miles on her bike this year and her in-laws being in Florida, and her husband selling his rental properties in the city. Doug Reed celebrated a new vehicle after hitting a deer. Jim celebrated Rush-Henrietta winning a sectional football game that his son-in-law (my cousin) coaches. Hans was also forced to get another car after his died of old age. So he's now driving his wife's old car. He also celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving. Sue O'Hearn was not with us tonight because she was thrown from a horse and trampled and was in the hospital. Our prayers are with you Sue and we hope you will be with us soon and that you're doing well. The program tonight was a finish up for the final preparations for the auction. Thanks Mark. 50/50 was won by Kelly Cole.

Tue 11/06 Regular Meeting
Program: Rotary Foundation [Jim Tompsett]
Attendance: MIA were Bruce Burrit, Joe Callahan, Hal Cole, Rob Coyne, Rev Bert Croop, Tim Dickinson, Charles Feller, Dave Futter, Bob Hayes, Dave Hennehan, Barb Herman, Tom Ippolito, Linda Kime, Sue O'Hearn, Steve Stephenson, Kirk Vanderbilt, and Jim Yencer.

Marcia's Notes:

Guests tonight included Dr Ken Steadman, and Robert Delana a prospective member. The Auction was a great success thanks to Mark Evans, Kelly and Jan Cole and to all the members of the Avon Rotary Club. We raised a total of $15,731. $6,080 of that was raised by the Rotarians. Sue O'Hearn is in a wheel chair and neck brace. Please send her a card and Sue if you are reading this our prayers and good thoughts are still with you. Hope you are doing well soon. The No Fine button was auctioned to Jerry Dougherty. We also celebrated our RotariansÕ Birthdays and Anniversaries for the month of November. Celebrations included one by Charlie Pease's biannual privilege to cast his vote for 2 Rotarians. Jamie celebrated the teamwork and unbelievable management of the Auction. Mark commented that he doesnÕt do things half-assed but full-assed. Karl also celebrated the great job done at the Auction, AG Richard told him that we are a top notch group. Karl also wanted to celebrate his wife's Birthday the big 50. Marne is looking for the recipe for the French Vanilla Cake that she purchased at the Auction. Jim celebrated put stuff in the District Newsletter, pictures and such. Jerry applauded Prez Bill tradition of buying us a drink at the dinner after the Auction. Bob House celebrated his 8 day trip to California where he saw all the fires, The Golden Gate Bridge and they survived an earthquake. Jamie celebrated the fact that he saved a lot of money on his car insurance by switching to Geico. The VFW is collecting items for the troops in Iraq. Go to Avonny.org to find the items and how to donate them. Jim Tompsett presented the program for the evening. It was on the Rotary Foundation. He told us about the Permanent Fund, Restricted giving, Annual Fund, and Benefactor Program. They would like every Rotarian in our club and all the others to contribute $5.00 to this program during the month of November. It was a very interesting program if you werenÕt there I encourage you to talk to Jim about the program and learn more about our Rotary Foundation. 50/50 was won by Don Cook.

Tue 11/13 Regular Meeting
Program: Election Commissioners [Wayne Warriner]
Attendance: MIA were our reporter, Marcia Cameron, and undoubtedly a few other people.

Pres. Bill encourages all who missed a meeting to call another MIA and do a make-up together. For nearby make-up options, check the back of our paper directory or the on-line directory of District club meeting times and places. If you do a make-up, please tell Secretary Shirley about it right away, so the right numbers are reported to the District.
