Marcia's Notes:

Our guests tonight included District Govener John Hall and his wife Maureen, Sally Tompsett, Sue Tompsett, Assistant District Govener Richard Nereau and his wife Marge, Kate Newman a prospective member and 6 mo old baby Olivia. The meeting was brought to order then Charlie showed us all a copy of the D&C which had an article in the business section that mentions our own Kelly Cole (She lives in Avon NY.) So Prez Bill gave Kelly a pink hat they were going to Auction off. Joe Callahan celebrated a very successful Corn Fest. Finances seem to be up from last year. Jim Yencer gave us a quick report approximately $19,000 profit. Overall it was a fantastic job. Bill Shaw, Jerry and Laurie did a great job with advertising. Also a big thank you to Joe Callahan, and Kevin Tompsett. The building structure at the scout grounds made a big difference with this years Corn Fest so a big thank you also to Tom Ippolito and Ted Coyne. Bill Shaw read to us from a paper in Connetticut that mentioned our Corn Festival. Hans Celebrated all the hits on the web site. Kathy Brandt shared a tape that she made the night of the instalation of officers for Prez. Bill. Thank you Kathy you did a great job even though I told you to take the camera off of me. AG Richard Nereau talked to us for a little while and introduced John Hall to us. He told us about his Rotary experiences and how he came to be our new District Govenor. They have 3 grown sons and are expecting their first grandchild in December. John commended us on our CornFestival which him and his wife attended. He also thanked us for coming tonight. He says that Rotarians are ordinary people doing extraordinary things. We reach out and touch people around the world as well as our neighbors. He explained about our Totary Shares Theme and talked about Rotarian's Leading the Way. He also told us a story about how we should keep asking people to join Rotary. Great programs make Rotary. He talked about our Polio Plus Program. Rotary has donated 65 million dollars to this program. He also gave us a jar to put our change in for our meetings for the Polio Program. He also asked us this question. When did you become a Rotarian and not a member of a Rotary Club? Think about it. 50/50 winner was Tom Ippolito and baby Olivia pulled the winning ticket. Jim Tompsett presented the newest Paul Harris Fellow Award to his son Kevin. Kevin has done a great job as Secretary for the Corn Festival. He also received Rotarian of the Year for 2006 -2007. He also helped Hans with the club web site. Kevin thanked his dad for bringing him into Rotary and Interact. Congradulation Kevin Great Job.
