President's Message

TO ALL AVONROTARIANS - THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TURN OUT AT THE D'ANGELO STORAGE BUILDING DEDICATION, AND THANKS TO TOM & TED FOR ADDING TO THE PROGRAM.  REMEMBER WE HAVE ANOTHER DEDICATION THIS FALL AND A SIMILAR FINE TIME AND GOOD TURN OUT IS NEEDED.  A BIG THAK YOU FOR THE FINE PICNIC DINNER PREPARED BY OUR SOCIAL COMMITTEE, ESPECIALLY CHAIRWOMAN LAURIE!
Rotarian Makr Evans has suggested that it is diificult to read messages in all caps, Rotarian Charles Feller has indicated that it means I am "hollerin" at you all!  So I'll give the club a choice:  I am taking a "straw vote" and will decide later this important aspect of our communication.
Finally,  Enjoy the Eastern Cities Dinner,  make a good showing for Avon, and the fishermen Jim, Kevin, Bob, Ernie, Jerry and Hans will be back for more abuse on 9/19 when Rotarian Mark has the program on the auction.

President Jim

Thoughts for the week

"How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?"
Satchell Paige

This week's thought is dedicated to those who stay young by dedicating themselves...
Please submit your favorite sayings, noteworthy events, jokes, and I'll gladly include it here (as long as it is politically/socially/morally/culturally/educationally/philosophically/... correct, of course :-)
