President's Message

TO ALL CLUB MEMBERS THAT ATTENDED TONIGHT'S MEETING WITH THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR, THANK YOU!  THOSE THAT DID NOT MISSED A VERY GOOD MEAL, AWARM ROOM, WARM WELCOME FROM AG RICHARD AND AN INSPIRING MESSAGE FROM DG JIM.  I'LL NOW PLAGIARIZE A FAMOUR US PRESIDENT:  "ASK NOT WHAT YOUR CLUB CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR CLUB."
    tHIS IS INTENDED TO STIMULATE YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT SOME PEOPLE ARE DOING FOR ROTARY AND WHAT SOME ARE NOT.  SPECIFICALLY, THOSE THAT TOOK A MINOR ROLE IN THE CORN FESTIVAL CHALLENGE ARE BEING ASKED BY YOUR PRESIDENT AND THE AUCTION CHAIRMAN ROTARIAN MARK, TO STEP FORWARD AND TAKE ON MORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CHALLENGE OF OUR AUCTION COMING UP.  ALL ROTARIANS ARE NEEDED BUT WE ASK THOSE THAT MISSED THE CORN FEST  FOR WHATEVER REASON TO PLAY A SPECIAL ROLE IN AUCTION PREP.  MORE ON THAT AT THE NEXT "IN HOUSE" MEETING AT PEPPERMINTS WHEN MARK WILL LAY OUT AUCTION DETAILS ON 9/19.
    PLEASE TAKE NOTE, MUCH EFFORT HAS GONE IN TO THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF THE STORAGE BUILDING AND NOW IT IS IN FULL USE.  OUR NEXT MEETING 9/5 BEGINS AT 5 PM.  THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ATTEND.  YOU NEED RESERVATIONS FOR THE PICNIC DINNER TO LAURIE VONGLIS.  AND, THE DEDICATION CEREMONY WILL START PROMPTLY AT 5:30 PM TO ENABLE SOME OF THE D'ANGELO FAMILY TO ATTEND FROM OUT OF TOWN.  PLEASE, BE THERE.
    REMINDER, CHECK THE FUTURE SCHEDULE FOR UPCOMING DATES.  THE APPRECIATION DINNER IS NOW ON FOR SUNDAY 10/15 STARTING AT 3 PM.  KEEP THIS DATE OPEN.  IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL CORN FEST STEERING COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN GET A COMPLETE LIST OF YOUR VOLUNTEERS AND THEIR ADDRESSES TO LAURIE BY SEPTEMBER 8 TO ENABLE THE INVITATIONS TO BE SENT PROMPTLY.  THANK YOU,

Program: Area 8 Meeting with 4 other clubs and District Gov. Jim Holden
Attendance: MIA were Kathy Brandt, Bruce Burritt, Joe Callahan, Hal Cole, Don Cook, Rob Coyne, Tim Dickinson, Mark Evans, Charles Feller, Shirley Figueroa, Dave Futter, Barb Herman, Linda Kime, Marne Rogers, Tim Rogers, Bill Shaw, Ben Siragusa, Steve Stephenson, Tom Vonglis, and Jim Yencer.
Pres. Jim encourages all who missed a meeting to call another MIA and do a make-up together. Check the back of the new directory for nearby make-up options.
